Black Pearl Charcoal is made from nutshells that are 100 percent Australian grown. These shells are a by-product of nut processing and include one or more of walnut, pecan, macadamia, hazelnut and pistachio shells.

Black Pearl Charcoal is manufactured in Australia by an Australian owned company using an Australian developed technology.

  1. Place Black Pearl Charcoal in a pyramid shaped pile on your fire grate. Alternatively, Black Pearl Charcoal can be placed in a lighting chimney.
  2. Light the Black Pearl charcoal with an electric heat gun (recommended) OR use charcoal lighting fluid such as Ethanol gel. (Do not add liquid fuel to charcoal that is already ignited.)
  3. Leave the charcoal to fully light by which time they should be glowing orange (up to 20 minutes).
  4. Spread the Black Pearl Charcoal on the fire grate under the intended cooking area. A single layer is usually sufficient.
